CHIAS's paintings are executed with an illuminating chromatic sense. Gold, whites and carmines are his favourite colours and the ones that best serve to tone his compositions, which are always achieved basically by the correct arrangement of the points of light.

Painting is basically a homage to light. Without luminosity there is no painting. Darkness is the negation of colour. In that sense the search for the light of the south is always a longing for painters. The contrasts of colours created by the zenithal light flow in ascending and descending scales from the east to the west.

Rueda's gaze penetrates nature, the urban or wild landscape, the photographs and, after an elaborate computer process, the contours dissolve amidst the mist and the heavy atmosphere that he has so sensitively captured, so that the dome of St Mark's Cathedral would never occupy a secondary place in a figurative painting.
